Olive Carroll

January 16, 1943 ~ January 2, 2022 (age 78) 78 Years Old

Tribute

On Sunday January 2nd 2022, at the age of 78, Olive Newton Carroll, “Tommy’s Girl” ascended into her eternal life and was peacefully reunited with her husband Thomas Carroll. Olive was born in Liverpool, England, and moved to the United States in 1973, where they created their new lives. Their English tragedy turned into their American life story. She was married to the love of her life for 58 years and they have six children: Thomas, Tracy, Sandra, Debra, John and Stephen. She was blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Olive was the oldest of seven children who all remain living in England. She was loved and adored by her siblings Jimmy, Margaret, Billy, John, Tommy and Pam. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews in England. Her American life brought her great difficulties but also a lifetime of wonderful memories. She was known for her eagerness to spill the latest gossip over her cup of tea and a cookie and was always excited to update you on the celebrities and their where abouts. Her most favorite thing that she loved to do was take road trips and long rides in the car through the country or to the beach, but only as a passenger which is why she always only had a tan on her right arm. She never drove a day in her life, but she always knew where she was going and even reminded you that to get where you were going you had to “go up on the right and come down on the left”. She enjoyed going to the English store and sharing all of her Cadbury treats with the kids. She was a regular grocery shopper and packed the refrigerator like she was feeding all of the neighbors.  She spent a majority of her life shopping at Walmart for everyone she knew and building a full wardrobe of clothing she was always saving for vacations. The kids will tell you they always wanted to be with nana because they knew they would get the best snacks and she’d give them money for giving her unnecessary make overs. She loved hanging out in her room with her ginger ale and snacks and was a big fan of her “Telly”. She lived for the TV, lifetime movies, Hallmark Christmas movies & a good day or night soap opera. She was the Queen of gossip, she had the heart of a giver, she loved to spread laughter through her inside jokes and was the ultimate snack giver and everyone who loved her will remember that the most about her. Although we will miss her dearly here on earth, we’ve had our time with her, we’ve made our memories that we’ll hold for our lifetimes, but Heaven knew that Tommy needed his girl back and we know that she also needed him. We are at peace knowing they’re together again in their eternal lives. Good night and God Bless to you both. Per the request of the family all services will remain private. In lieu of flowers and gifts the family asks that all donations be made to an organization very dear to Olive’s heart.
