Robert A. Monteleone, age 79 of Bridgeport, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2017 in his home. Robert was born in Flushing Queens, NY, son of the late Fabio and Rose Helfrich Monteleone and retired as an aeronautical engineer with Sikorsky Aircraft. He was a graduate of Rensselaer University and was a teacher at the Bridgeport Engineering Institute. Robert was an avid traveler, a pilot and something of a musician and painter. He was a member of the Monroe Jaycees, cofounder of Country Collage Players, a devoted father, a loyal friend and a wonderfully kind hearted soul that was a regular contributor to public television, and WMNR radio in Monroe. Survivors include his devoted children Lynn Margaret Cartisano and husband Mace of Waterbury, Jill Arline Rodriguez and husband Harry of Milford, Patrick James Monteleone and wife Janice of Fairfield, Timothy Mark Monteleone of Monroe, Daniel Robert Monteleone of Bridgeport, Christopher Ernest Monteleone of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Michael Fabio Monteleone and wife Aziza, of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Kerry Helfrich Monteleone and wife Sara of Costa Rica, mother of his children Peggy O'Leary of Monroe, fourteen cherished grandchildren Marc, Steven, Connor, Matthew, Megan, Christopher, Geremy, Liam, Jaxon, Cole, Eamon, Nico, Dyami, and Evie Rose, two great grandsons Aiden and Kyielier. He was predeceased by his brother Thomas Charles Monteleone, and daughter- in-law Tracey Monteleone. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00a.m., in the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull. Interment will follow in Mountain Grove of Easton Cemetery.
