Ruth M. Campbell Gilbane, R.N., age 93 of Monroe left to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 12, 2017. Ruth was born in Bridgeport, daughter of the late J. Edward and Anne Donahue Campbell and was a lifelong area resident, living in Bridgeport, Trumbull and Monroe.  She attended Harding High School and went on to graduate from St. Vincent’s Nursing School as a registered nurse.  She worked at St. Vincent’s Medical Center and later at the Carolton Convalescent Hospital and retired after a long and dedicated career. She was an excellent dancer, loved music and was an avid baseball fan. Most of all she devoted her life to her six children and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a longtime member of the Gaelic American Club of Fairfield, CT. and volunteered her time to St. Teresa’s pastoral care ministry.  She was very active with the West Haven Senior Center and also was a member of the Widow Widowers Club. Survivors include her devoted children Robert F. Gilbane and wife Donna of Charlestown, RI, Patrick F. Gilbane and wife Denise of Fairfield, Colleen A. Pedersen and husband Dennis of Sandy Hook, Mariellen Gilbane Dachos of Westwood, MA, and Nanci Hayas and husband Michael of Spofford, NH, ten grandchildren Kimberly Satmary, Nicholas, Brandon, Kenneth, Brian and Matthew Gilbane, Timothy, Alexandra, Kevin Dachos, and Jesse Warren, three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Ruth was predeceased by her husband Thomas P. Gilbane, Sr., son Thomas P. Gilbane, Jr., grandson Thomas P. Gilbane, III and her twin sister Dorothy Roderick. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00a.m., from the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull, and at 11:00a.m., in St Margaret's Shrine, 2523 Park Avenue, Bridgeport, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call Friday from 4:00 to 7:00p.m., in the funeral home.  Those who so desire may make donations in her name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
