William R. Godo of Fairfield, age 74, passed away after a long courageous battle with Cancer on April 5, 2014. Born June 30th, 1939 in Bridgeport, CT, he was the son of the late William & Clara Godo. He was the beloved husband of Jeanette (Murray) for 48 years. Bill leaves to cherish his memory, in addition to his wife Jeanette, are two devoted children: his daughter Noreen and her husband Joseph Rando of Fairfield, his son William and his wife Kelly of Shelton, a grandson Nicholas Rando, his sister Doris and her husband Paul Baker of Huntington and many nieces and nephews. Bill was a Fairfield resident all his life and attended Nathan Hale School and Andrew Warde High School. He was a graduate of the Connecticut School of Electronics in New Haven, CT. Bill served in the US Army. He was an Electronic Technician and worked for many local companies including Automatic Signal, General Science, ITT, Black & Decker and later Bills Home Repair Service before his retirement. Bill’s passion was maintaining his home and garden so much so that his daughter was married in the backyard. He took great pride in keeping a beautiful lawn and growing a variety of flowers, especially orchids. He enjoyed fishing along Fairfield County’s shoreline and was an avid Yankee fan. When his son was young, he truly enjoyed coaching little league in Fairfield. Later in life, Bill spent many hours on the bleachers cheering on his grandson’s baseball and football games. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00am meeting directly in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Road, Fairfield with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private. Friends may call Tuesday 4-8pm in the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull.
