Edith V. “Ronnie” Thompson Dunigan, age 92 of Trumbull, beloved wife of the late John J. Dunigan, passed away Monday, February 20, 2017 in Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Bridgeport, she had resided in Trumbull for over fifty years. She is survived by her loving children who include daughters, Ellen Brigham and her husband, Richard of Plano, Texas, Virginia Dunigan of Trumbull, her sons Michael and his wife Susan Dunigan and Patrick and his wife Kim Grudeski, all of Shelton, and a brother Hubert Thompson of Orange. Her beloved grandchildren include, Kathryn O'Shields-Blackman and her husband Burke Blackman, Luke O'Shields and his wife Melisa O'Shields, James Dunigan, Brian Dunigan, Kevin Dunigan, Stephen Dunigan and Paul Coutu, two great granddaughters Hailey and Hannah O’Shields and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she is predeceased by her infant son Timothy, a daughter Janis Mary Coutu and her husband Gerard, and two brothers William and Joseph Thompson. Edith was the daughter of the late William and Edith Kilroy Thompson. She was a graduate of Harding High School and had attended Fairfield University. Edith had been a secretary at various local real estate offices. She was a member of the League of St. Joseph’s Manor, and the Gaelic American Club. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00a.m., meeting directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main Street, Trumbull with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call Thursday from 4:00p.m. to 7:00p.m., in the Redgate – Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull.  Those who so desire may make contributions in her name to St. Theresa Church.
